RUN SPACES: SHAPE BATHROOM CULTURE HOLISTICALLY!

The bathroom is part of our lives - we spend time in it several times a day. It's where we cultivate our daily rituals, prepare for the day or recharge our batteries. In short: the bathroom is a cultural space and shapes social attitudes towards body and mind. As such, LAUFEN always thinks of the bathroom holistically, combining ceramic objects, furniture, fittings, wellness, and accessories in finely tuned design lines.

At LAUFEN space Berlin, we think of the bathroom holistically. In personal consultations on materiality, colors, and functionality, we develop innovative solutions and the interplay of ceramic objects, furniture, fixtures, bathtubs, and accessories.

The LAUFEN space Berlin houses a selection of the current collections, which can be combined in different ways and experienced haptically on site.
Space for
PReSENTATION,
EXPERIMENT And DIALOGue.
Questioning and developing this bathroom culture is the goal of our LAUFEN space Berlin. Here we combine the presentation of our collections with the opportunity for playful experimentation and an exciting discourse on the social significance of the bathroom.

In dialogue with customers, designers, craftsmen and creative minds, we think the bathroom further ahead. The result of this interplay? Surprising collaborations, inspiring talks, events and performances that shape a sustainable and conscious bathroom culture.

ZIRKULARITÄT/CIRCULARITY

Within the second event of the series "MATERIAL MATTERS", Sabine Oberhuber, expert of circular business models, and Thorben Gröbel, renowned architect and designer from Berlin, provide insights into their professional practice with impulse lectures.

Afterwards, Oberhuber and Gröbel discussed the value of limited available raw materials and materials in a conversation and discuss how the economy and society can value the impact of already recycled material instead of considering it as waste.

CERTAIN MEASURES: [RE]TAIL

CERTAIN MEASURES with Tobias Nolte (Co-Founder) and Olivia Heung (Art Director) designed the kick-off of our MATERIAL MATTERS series with the installation [RE]TAIL.

In their installation, Tobias Nolte and Olivia Heung paint a picture of a future in which a new culture of repair leads to an innovative language of form, aesthetics, and a clever use of materials. Inspired by the traditional Japanese practice of kintsugi, CERTAIN MEASURES explores new approaches to restoring, assembling, and fusing. How can new materials such as algae and biopolymers be used in this process? What does the best possible "reparability" mean for the design of an object?

Re-Opening

In the context of a typical Swiss aperitif, the new team introduced itself at LAUFEN space Berlin, with the MATERIAL MATTERS event series. The MATERIAL MATTERS lecture series highlights the topics of circular design and the circular economy in keynote speeches, talks and installations. What new products and services can this kind of thinking enable? How can business models be created that do not harm the environment but give something back to it? What impact can this have on our society as a whole?

To be discovered were the results of our recent collaboration with designer TOAN NGUYEN, together with a special installation by botanical design studio ANATOMIE FLEUR.
